GDC Telex is a complete telex messaging solution, consisting of
client software and a multiline telex gateway.
GDC Telex software includes full text and database file import
features, an address book to store frequently used telex addresses, an
optional administration module which sets user accounts and access
levels, and archiving capabilities to save telex messages to encrypted
files on disk.
The telex gateway software included is designed to
operate a dual-line communications server, either through Graphnet's
public data network or through telex lines with Hasler boxes. If a
communications server is needed, Graphnet will also provide a PC with
modems as part of a total telex communications solution.

Point-and-click Interface
- GDC Telex allows quick and easy access to message creation, address
book editing, and other important features through the use of icons and
windows. Standard messaging functions, like forwarding and resending, are accomplished
with a click of a button.

Easy Message Creation
- Text files can be imported directly into telex messages, or entered
manually. GDC Telex also lets you save frequently used file formatting styles as forms,
letting you create a standardized look for your telex documents.

Advanced Messaging Capabilities
- GDC Telex places a wide variety of messaging enhancements at the
user's disposal. Send messages in real-time or store-and-forward telex.
Create manual broadcast lists to send a single message to hundreds of
telex addresses. Place global message delivery options for telex
messages. View delivery results immediately.

Security
- GDC Telex incorporates many security features for your telex station. User accounts can be set with a wide
variety of access rights, such as requiring message validation from one
or more GDC Telex users, or limiting access to the address book and
inbound messages.
Archived telex messages are encrypted to prevent unauthorized user
reading, and can be stored to a floppy
disk, which can then be secured by the network administrator.
GDC Telex is also available without the security module, which may be preferable for stand-alone users and small networks.

Gateway Features
- The GDC Telex Gateway software is designed to power a dual-line
communications server for outbound and inbound telex messaging. Some of
the many Gateway features include:
- Varied communication settings -- Communication lines
can be set at speeds up to 9600 baud for store-and-forward messages,
1200 baud for real-time messages. Lines can be specified for
bidirectional or dedicated outbound/inbound use to maximize performance.
- Printer/file monitoring -- Messages can automatically be
stored to a file or a printer as they are sent/received.
- Log files -- All Gateway operations are stored in log files
so the administrator can monitor access and troubleshoot communication
problems easily.

Hardware Requirements
- GDC Telex requires a '486 SX or superior PC running at 25 MHz, 4 M
of RAM, and at least 10 M of hard disk space. The communications
Gateway also requires two modems capable of running at 1200 baud or
higher. Graphnet can provide a communications server upon request.
